The Fine Print: Payment, Rescheduling and Cancellation Policies
Private Sessions
All Pilates and Stretch sessions are 50 minutes, unless otherwise listed specifically in the offering.
These sessions are offered as one-on-one private sessions, unless otherwise listed specifically in the offering.
You will most likely work with the same instructor each week due to scheduling, however this is not mandatory and clients are welcome to take classes with any instructor.
Initial Assessments, Pilates sessions and RYC sessions can be done in person or over Zoom. When booking, let your instructor know if you’d prefer in-person or Zoom sessions.
Packages
We offer 6-packs, 10-packs and monthly membership options. All packages and memberships must be paid in full to proceed with scheduling sessions. All sessions in your package will be booked at the same time, in order to reserve your sessions and give us more time together in the studio.
- 6-packs expire three months after the purchase date.
- 10-packs expire six months after the purchase date.
- Monthly membership credits rollover, but must be used within 60 days of the cancelled session.
Clients are responsible for using their packages and membership credits prior to expiration date.
Packages and memberships can be paused for medical, personal or work needs. Please let us know asap so we can work with you to pause your sessions.
Memberships
Monthly memberships are a great way to maintain a consistent Pilates and Stretch practice. Membership clients have their time and day reserved on our schedule as a standing appointment. These sessions are automatically booked, with the next month’s sessions being booked one week prior to the start of a new month. All memberships must be paid through autopay.
Memberships include 4 sessions/month or 48 sessions per year. Due to the nature of the calendar months and how holidays land on the schedule, you may receive 3 sessions one month and 5 sessions the next. Occasionally, depending on the day of the week your membership lands on, you may get an extra session!
While we request a minimum of 8 sessions to really get a comprehensive experience of working with us, memberships do not require a set length and can be cancelled at any time. We do not charge an administrative fee or cancellation fee for memberships.
The studio is closed the last two weeks of December for the winter holidays. Clients wishing to start a membership in Dec will be charged a prorated rate for the sessions booked in December, with membership beginning in January.
Payment Policy
All sessions require pre-payment to hold your appointment. This allows us to operate more efficiently and spend our time working with you, rather than processing payments.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
We encourage clients to reschedule their sessions, rather than cancel. This allows us to operate more efficiently and spend more time working with you.
We have a 24 hour cancellation policy. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance will result in a 100% cancellation fee. Same day cancellations will be charged at 100% of the appointment fee.
Clients may text or email to cancel or reschedule their sessions.
Group classes with recordings provided as part of the class offering will not offer refunds, reschedules or cancellations.
Group classes offered as a set course with a defined length (ie 8 week Mat class) will not offer refunds, reschedules or cancellations.
If your primary instructor cannot make your scheduled session, we will do our best to make sure you have your scheduled lesson with a sub. If we cannot get sub coverage for any reason, your session will be rescheduled. For packages, the rescheduled session will be added to the end of the package. For memberships, you will have the option to reschedule the session or upgrade a future session to a Stretch session.
All of our subs are certified Pilates instructors with experience working with Pilates Native.
Arrival Time
We have a 10 minute block scheduled between each client. This allows the instructors to clean and disinfect between clients, reset the room, eat a snack, return phone calls, wash hands and take care of any personal business between sessions.
When the GMWC is open, clients are welcome to arrive early and wait in the main waiting room until their session time. When the GMWC is closed, clients are welcome to arrive no more than 5 mins early. If clients are early to the studio space, they are welcome to change into Pilates socks, begin their standing balance warmup or stretch while the instructor finishes their tasks.
If you arrive while another session is in progress, please be courteous and allow the instructor to conclude that session. If the instructor runs late, that amount of time will be made up during session or in a future session.
Late Policy
Sessions will begin at the scheduled time. If you’re running a few minutes late, please text your instructor immediately. You’ll receive your session in the time booked for your session. While we’ll do our best to make sure you get the most out of your session, we won’t run over into our other client’s sessions, nor will we offer a prorated session for lateness.
If you are more than 15 minutes late to a 60 minute session, your session will be considered “same-day cancellation” and charged at 100% of the appointment fee.
If your instructor is late, we will make up the missed time either at the same session or at a future session.
Refunds
While we don’t offer refunds, we do offer transferable sessions on all of our packages. If you’ve purchased a package and aren’t able to make the remaining appointments, you can transfer the remaining sessions to family or friends. Just let us know.
Group classes with recordings provided as part of the class offering will not offer refunds or reschedules.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is Pilates?
Pilates is an exercise method that was developed by Joseph Pilates in the 1930’s. Originally called Contrology, Pilates is a low-impact, full-body exercise system that was designed to balance functional movement, mobility and strength. The Pilates method incorporates Mat Pilates and the Equipment: Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Arc, and more.
Pilates Native utilizes Mat Pilates, Standing Pilates, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair and Spine Arc in our sessions.
Does Pilates hurt?
It’s a really popular idea that Pilates is painful, torture, unpleasant, or leaves you shaking uncontrollably. Pilates should not hurt. In fact, extreme pain, discomfort or uncontrollable shaking are signs of overworking or over training. If you feel any pain during a session, we will immediately back off, reassess and gently progress.
Let’s define pain.
Pain is burning, ripping, tearing, excessive pulling, stabbing, shooting, or “white hot” sensation. There is a difference between pain and feeling discomfort because we’re in new positions or utilizing muscles in a new way. While we doing Pilates and Stretch Therapy, we may find some positions uncomfortable or possibly unpleasant, but we will not push through or ignore any pain sensations. If you feel any pain during a session, we will immediately back off, reassess and gently progress.
What is Fascial Stretch Therapy (FST)?
FST is a pain-free session of assisted-stretch therapy. The method is designed to increase flexibility, increase muscle activation, promote total body relaxation and improve the overall range of motion.
FST is performed fully clothed while laying on a stretch table. Straps may be utilized to help stabilize the body during stretch. The FST practitioner will then utilize their own hands and body to create leverage to move the client through various ranges of motion and patterns.
What are the benefits of Fascial Stretch Therapy?
- Stretching improves Range of Motion, which in turn increases physical strength, improves physical activity and sports performance.
- Stretching can decrease pain, stiffness and tightness in the muscles.
- Stretching can proactively help prevent injuries.
- Stretching improves flexibility, strength (due to greater ROM), posture and circulation.
- Assisted stretching is more effective than self-stretching.
What is Thai Yoga?
Thai Yoga Bodywork is frequently called Thai Massage, Thai Yoga or Thai Bodywork. It fuses assisted stretch, massage therapy and energy work into a single modality. Combining yoga influenced stretches with the physical pressure of massage, Thai Yoga Bodywork focuses on the energetic lines of Ayurveda and Chinese acupuncture.
Thai Yoga Bodywork is performed fully clothed while laying on a thicky cushy floor mat. The practitioner may use their body, hands or feet to create leverage and pressure in different poses or stretches. Thai Yoga Bodywork is done in a slow methodical process, which helps the brain and body relax.
Do you offer any discounts or student rates?
To align with our goal of providing equity, equality and diversity in Pilates, we offer equity pricing if needed. However, we do request that you choose equity sessions only if truly needed, as they book quickly! 🙂
Student rates are also available for student athletes.
Please call to request equity pricing and student athlete options.
I’ve been doing Group Classes. Why should I do private sessions?
Group Pilates classes are great fun and are awesome for building consistency and community. But when you’re dealing with an injury, pregnancy, or training for a major event like an ultramarathon, a group class may not provide the modifications, understanding or intention in training that you need. The main benefit of private sessions is that they offer 100% personalized attention and customization.
A one-on-one approach allows us to tailor movements specifically to your body, addressing imbalances, supporting recovery, and optimizing performance. During a private session, we can take as much time as we need to understand a movement, we can take detours to build into an exercise, or we can workshop a specific exercise or movement pattern to really understand it. We’ll also have time to dig deeper into various resources like anatomy books, aps, and other resources, while also getting into how those resources relate to your body and what it needs.
Whether you’re navigating rehab, preparing for childbirth, or fine-tuning strength and mobility for a big race, private sessions ensure that every exercise works for you—safely, effectively, and with maximum benefit.
How often should I do Pilates?
Joseph Pilates recommended his clients do Pilates 4x/week. If Pilates is your ONLY form of exercise, aim for 4 days/week. This can be one private and a mix of three group or online classes per week.
Because we do private sessions at Pilates Native, we’d like to see our clients 1x-2x/week with the goal of moving all clients to once a week.
Most of our clients see us once a week for Pilates. This enables them to continue their current activities without adding too much stress to the schedule. Because we focus on individual needs, we will provide certain things to work on during the week, or during other activities.
How often should I do Stretch Therapy?
For FST Stretch Therapy, we follow this progression with the goal of moving clients to once a month for maintenance:
1x/week for 6-8 weeks
1x/every other week for 6-8 weeks
1x/month for maintenance
Will I have any homework?
You will have about 2 mins/day of homework. The homework exercises are typically things you can do while you’re already doing your normal routine. Whether this is standing balance while brushing teeth, adding candles breathing to your strength training warmup, working on standing posture while in line at the grocery store, or taking a stretch break at work, your homework will be quick, easy and habit stackable.
I want you to do the homework exercises and not feel any guilt around not doing them, or be stressed out about having to find the time, space, props, or clothing. 2 mins a day is 12 hours per year, so while it’s small, it can be very impactful.
My trainer/coach/massage therapist has previously stretched me out after a workout. Why should I book an appointment with you, a Stretch Therapist?
This is a great question! The first would be the level of training in stretch methods. As a certified Level 3 Stretch to Win Stretch Therapist, I am required to have a working knowledge of functional anatomy and attended 120 hours of hands-on training in the Stretch to Win method, completed many hours of practice and was required to pass an exam for each level of certification.
Secondly, the Stretch to Win method is a scientifically proven method with over 50 years of practice-based evidence. Every session is rooted in science and follows a specific method and pattern to release the muscles and fascia.
Third, while your trainer, coach or masseuse may tack on a little bit of stretch at the end of the session as a bonus, my specialty is Stretch Therapy.
What are your qualifications?
I have been teaching movement since leading a group dance class in the 8th grade! In 2010, I started my official training journey and received my 200-hr Hatha Yoga Instructor training through the Yoga Institute of Houston, am certified in the PhysicalMind method of Mat, Standing and Equipment Pilates (via Pilates Concepts of Houston) and am a certified Level 3 Stretch to Win Fascial Stretch Therapist. I am also a National Pilates Certification Program (NPCP) certified instructor, meaning I took and passed a third party assessment.
In addition to all of these awesome certs, I was a Sports Therapist at Spine & Sports Therapy in Houston, TX. SST specializes in treating and preventing overuse injuries. Over the course of my career at SST, I worked with three fantastic doctors and led thousands of sessions for hundreds of patients ranging from everyday folks who just enjoyed the occasional walk all the way up to Ironmen who were training several hours a day for months on end.
I worked with patients throughout their chiropractic care to rebuild their bodies post injury. Using Pilates and Stretch Therapy, we focused on developing core strength, retraining the muscles to recruit functionally and “erasing” old muscle patterns to prevent bad habits from creeping back in and re-aggravating old injuries. Injury prevention, rebuilding core strength and functional muscle patterns have been the bulk of my career.
I’m also certified in the Restore Your Core (RYC) method, which focuses on pelvic floor health, and have helped many clients maintain a healthy body during and after pregnancy or abdominal surgeries.
Do I need to shower before my session or can I come straight from my workout?
Please bring a clean body to your sessions. In addition to being unsanitary, a sweaty body is hard to hold on to and your session will have to be rescheduled. Sweaty body cancellations are subject to our same-day cancellation fee policy. *We do not have a shower available at our facility.
What do I wear?
For Pilates and Stretch Therapy, the recommended attire for both men and women is yoga-type pants and a top that moves with your body while maintaining your modesty. Gentlemen are requested to wear bike shorts or similar attire underneath their shorts or pants and ladies are requested to wear a sports bra or similar attire with their tops.
Please do not wear jeans, cargos or other attire with zippers, pulls, or metal rivets. Zippers, pulls, or metal rivets can damage the equipment.
Does Stretch Therapy hurt?
FST is designed to be pain-free. If you feel any pain or discomfort, we will immediately back off, reassess and gently progress.
What do I need to do to prepare for my Stretch or Pilates appointment?
Bring a clean body, wear appropriate attire and avoid applying lotion or oils to the ankles, feet, wrists, and arms right before your appointment. Avoid overly scented perfumes or deodorants. For Pilates, bring a water bottle and clean grip socks.
