A Few Fun Facts About Laura

  • She’s originally from Buffalo.

  • She’s got a long list of certifications that span Pilates, Yoga and Thai Massage.

  • Inversions are some of her favorite exercises and you’ll frequently find her upside down.

  • She’s also an artist and designs jewelry and shoes.

  • She’s passionate about injury recovery, but loves to takes clients to the very limit of possibility and progress them through the more advanced Pilates repertoire.

Laura’s journey began in her early 20s with a transformative hot yoga class that ignited her passion for this magical practice. As a dedicated practitioner turned certified instructor, yoga and personal development became the cornerstones of Laura’s life.

However, injuries led her to discover the wonders of Pilates, which provided the physical rehab her body craved. Laura firmly believes that yoga rehabilitates the mind, while Pilates rehabilitates the body—movement is truly the best medicine.

Despite her progress in mindful movement, Laura realized that true healing required more than just physical practices. Faced with past traumas and severe burnout, she sought out the guidance of therapy and discovered the transformative power of Human Design. This unique system helped her navigate her struggles, embracing her authenticity, and understanding the importance of alignment in all aspects of life.

Inspired by her journey, Laura became a certified Human Design consultant to help others unlock their potential and attract what is truly meant for them. Since September 2023, she has had the privilege of reading over 200 charts, and is committed to guiding even more individuals towards self-discovery and healing.

She is certified in Yoga, Pilates, personal training, corporate fitness and nutrition, and Thai Bodywork.

When she’s at Pilates Native, Laura offers Pilates and Thai Yoga (also called Thai Massage and Thai Vedic Assisted Yoga). She is passionate about injury recovery as well as the advanced Pilates work.

I had back surgery two years. This stretching has really provided relief and better movement!!! I have continued with the stretching and Pilates. In the last month I was able to play 90 holes of golf in 4 days and I was able to handle 28 hours on a plane without any pain. I would highly recommend the Pilates and stretching.

Rubecca & Laura have helped in so many categories…mobility, movement and my confidence. Learning a better way to move has given me a gift that I can “yelp” from the mountain tops. Pilates Native has given back years in mobility to my life.

Allison

Pilates

A Few Fun Facts About Allison

  • She’s originally from Chicago and spent a year living in a van, traveling the US with her husband.

  • She’s a behavior modification specialist and has a long list of degrees, trainings and certifications in her field.

  • Snow sports are some of her favorite activities and she’ll glad ski in for a primitive yurt weekend.

  • She’s passionate about sharing Pilates with folks who love to stay active but may also struggle with auto immune disorders.

Like many of us, Allison’s Pilates journey started with a desire to deal with her back pain. An avid outdoors woman, Allison found that her back pain interfered with camping, hiking, cross country skiing and her desire to PR on several of her lifts. After working with Rubecca and learning all kinds of Pilates tricks, she realized that Pilates gave her a movement practice that required a quiet control, rather than a big powerful oomph. Wanting to go deeper into this new sensation and explore more, she joined Pilates Native/Pilates Plus for instructor training.

She joins the team fresh out of training and brings an infectious enthusiasm and a genuine warmth and care for her clients. You can rest assured that if Allison doesn’t know an answer, she will start down the rabbit hole of research and find multiple sources to support a well round approach.

I did multiple classes with Allison and was very happy with the results and information I gained. She was professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and a lot of fun to work with. I think having a coach who is passionate and knows the workouts is key. Each time I had a question, or even a concern, Allison walked me through a movement while explaining its functionality, the logic behind it, and the areas of my body/movement to focus on. Typically, she had done the same workout she was teaching before we got there which made her feedback even more succinct. I would highly recommend Pilates Native, especially if you value the “why” behind the movements!

This studio meets my needs as a competitive athlete. All three instructors are great, and Allison in particular has gone above and beyond to understand my movement as a martial artist. She also has a great background in anatomy and physiology and challenges me each session.

Roscoe

Rubecca’s BFF + Pilates Native Chief of Moral Support

Black and white dog lying on grass in a park with trees and a picnic table in the background.

A Few Fun Facts About Roscoe

  • While he’s technically an Australian cattle dog, he’s 60 lbs, making him a bit larger than normal breed standards.

  • He loves to play fetch and will gladly play until exhaustion.

  • Rubecca trained him as a trail running dog using sled dog terms. He knows gee, haw, whoa, yield, pace and stop.

  • He loves to spend the day at the studio with all of our clients.

Originally from South Texas, Roscoe found himself at an animal shelter in San Benito. From San Benito, he was shipped to Austin before making his way to the Foothills Animal Shelter in Golden, CO.

Our son had been begging for a dog and found Roscoe online while researching rescue dogs available for adoption in our area. After doing a breed check and researching all of Roscoe’s needs as a cattle dog, our kiddo insisted we go directly to the shelter after school to meet him.

Like all good dogs, Roscoe immediately wooed the one family member who was NOT on board with getting a dog. We weren’t the only family interested in this sweet boy, so we placed our names on the waitlist with a $20 deposit and headed home to wait.

The kiddo spent the next 24 hours “manifesting” Roscoe and telling the universe we were the perfect family for him.

Luckily, the universe agreed and at 3pm the next day, we got a call that we were next in line for Roscoe and could pick him up asap. Roscoe came home with us that day and has been a favorite family member ever since. To quote my kiddo, he’s the smartest, sweetest dog in the whole world!

Roscoe is my best bud and can be counted on for long runs, hikes, biking and long neighborhood walks. Along with extended naps inside of my pollinator garden where he squashes all of the plants, he loves “working” at the Pilates studio where he provides moral support, mat warming and balance challenges for clients.
